Social Alliance

Environmental & Social Responsibility

In the last fifty years, all the farmers in the Northern region were engaged in growing Tobacco for a private company. The tobacco plant has a 365 day cycle which also involves the curing process in which most of the firewood in the area was consumed. When the company moved out of Uganda, it left all these farmers with degenerated soil and no alternative source of income. Moreover, their standard of living over 50 years has remained unchanged!

Our aim is to enable the farmer to enjoy, not only higher standard of living, but improve their technical knowledge, and access to basic infrastructure. To create awareness of the resources they hold and provide training on how best to utilize them. We believe, when all the stakeholders find value in this proposition, they would be self-motivated to engage with us and further strengthen the vision of socio economic benefit.

Ugagrains is committed to developing an Innovative mechanism for delivering critical investment to the agriculture sector through Private-Public partnership, which not only promotes the local partners but also protects the interest of its investors in the global market. We believe we can truly create a win-win situation by having a truly workable socio-economic model in place. A model venture, that will surely become self- sustaining within a short span of 5years.
